This research is part of a project conducted jointly between researchers at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the USA (Dr. Emad Habib, PI) and the operational and engineering staff of the Nile Forecasting Center (NFC) at the Planning Sector of the Egyptian Ministry of the Water Resources and Irrigation. The research includes a close collaboration with Dr. Robert Kuligowski at the NOAA Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR).
