The Deep-Sea Corals Portal is a project of The France Lab at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The spectacular imagery and information we are able to present is the result of years of collaborative projects that began in 2001 with Dr. Les Watling and Dr. Peter Auster on leg 1 of the Deep East expedition to deep-sea canyons of the northwestern Atlantic, and continued with additional collaborators on several seamount expeditions funded by NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration:

New England Seamounts 2003
Mountains in the Sea 2003
Mountains in the Sea 2004
Deep Atlantic Stepping Stones 2005
Bahamas Deep-Sea Corals 2009
