- Pick up the external male/female plug.
- With the White
wire in hand, carefully slide in the twisted
copper conductors into the slot on the external plug where the silver
colored screw is.
- With the screwdriver, tighten the silver screw (Refer
to Figure 3).
- With the Black
wire in hand, carefully slide in the twisted
copper conductors into the slot on the external plug where the gold
colored screw is.
- Tighten the gold
screw.
- With the Green
wire in hand, carefully slide in the twisted
copper conductors into the slot on the external plug where the green
colored screw is.
- Tighten the green
screw.
- Once all screws are tightened, re-check to make sure that
the Black wire is tightened
with the gold screw,
the White wire is
tightened with silver
screw, and the Green wire
is tightened with the
green screw (Refer to Figure 4).
- Slide the outside cover of the plug onto the plug and in
the
necessary slot indicated by a square located on the top of the plug and
outside piece.
- Slide the inside portion of the plug into the plug, lining
up the screw
cylinders with the desired holes.
- Using the long screws, tighten each screw in the holes at
the top of the plug.
- After the screws are tightened, take the two bottom pieces
and place them in the slots at the bottom of the cord.
- Screw in the shorter screws into the holes at the bottom of
the extension cord. Note: be sure the cord is gripped, but not mashed
in.
