The mission of our research lab is to integrate advanced construction materials and technologies to improve the structural performance, durability, resilience and energy efficiency of buildings and infrastructures. Our current research interest includes:
Dr. Zhang received LA BoRSF RCS award to work on high temperature resistant ductile fiber reinforced concrete.
Dr. Zhang as PI received NSF funding for a Research Experience for Undergraduate site in Advanced Infrastructure Materials (AIM-REU) at UL Lafayette to support undergraduate research. Learn more about the AIM-REU site.
UL steel bridge team, advised by Dr. Zhang won firs place in ASCE Deep South Conference (March 24-26, 2018) and are heading to national competition in May!
Dr. Zhang showcased our group's research to high school students who visited UL on Engineering Expo Day (Mar. 7, 2018).
Dr. Zhang and her colleagues at UL attended Louisiana Transportation Conference (Feb. 25-28, 2018) in Baton Rough, LA. Graduate student Kamal Baral presented at the conference.

Dr. Zhang received LTRC TIRE award to work on project entitled "Development of High Performance Impact Resistant Concrete Mixtures for Crash Barrier Application" (Project duration: 7/1/2017-6/20/2018)
Dr. Zhang gave a talk to the LaDOTD bridge design team on high-perforamnce fiber-reinfroced concrete and their potential applications in transporation infrastructures.
