2004 Archaeology Field School at Site 16SM5
Students processed portions of the matrix from the test units at 16SM5 with water through fine mesh screen.

The students carefully washed and labelled the artifacts from both test units

The artifacts were then counted, weighed, and catalogued in the Anthropology Lab.

Soil samples were processed through cloth bags in order to extract small botanical and faunal remains.

Ceramics recovered from the test units include sherds of French Fork Incised, variety Larkin.

Charcoal adhering to the exterior surface of a Mazique Incised variety Bruly sherd was collected and submitted for radiometric analysis.
