June 16th 2009:

• Hello, I am a psychology major and am in the midst of my senior year.

Psi Chi

• I am an active member of Psi Chi, the psychology honor society, and just finished my term as the 2008-2009 president.

• I am also actively doing research in my department. Among other things, I participate in the many research opportunities that we have. 

• In 2007 I helped to contribute a chapter to a neurotoxicity textbook on substance abuse induced anxiety disorders.

• More recently I placed second, along with a colleague, at the 2009 Southwest Psychologocial Association (SWPA) graduate research competition.  The research was done during the 2008 school year on the effects of cell-phone use on true and false memory.
  

• Currently we are preparing our research results for publication this fall.

• After graduating I plan to attend graduate school for my Ph. D. in clinical psychology and then a post-doctoral masters in psycho-pharmacology.
