Stand and Punch

1. The first step is getting into a good free stance.

 a. Spread your feet slightly apart by putting one foot a little in front of the other

See Figure 1 for how it should look.

2.  Make a good fist. Make sure it’s tight and your thumb is on the outside,

not the inside.

WARNING: If thumb is on inside and you throw

a punch you could break your thumb.

See Figure 2 how it should look & Figure 2.3 to see how it should not look.

3.  Begin punching the bag.

a. Begin with good, straight, hard punches

b. Do this until you get a good rhythm.

See Figure 2.4 to see how it should look.

WARNING: Do not throw limp or “lazy” punches. You could hurt yourself.

 4. Continue straight punches, and once you have a rhythm, add in hook punches.

Do this for about 45 seconds.

See Figure 2.5 to see how it should look.

5. Continue punching and now add in back fists. Do this along with straights

and hooks for about 1:30-2 mins.

See Figure 2.6 to see how it should look.

Dance and Punch

 1. At this point just simply do the moves from Stand and Punch while moving

around the bag.

WARNING: Do not just skip around the bag. Also, as with all steps,

technique is key to not injuring yourself.

2. Do this for about 2-2:30 mins.

3. Take a 1 min. break.
