This is the entrance to my
dissertation, perhaps the first web-delivered hypertextual
dissertation; all the links in it were valid at the time of my defense
in 1998 but many things have changed since then including my move to
the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I have preserved the
dissertation as it was back in 1998, without change, for
scholarly/archival reasons, rather than trying to fix all the myriads
of mailto links and other things that have, like much of the Web, gone
the way of much digital material. You are, therefore, by clicking the
link below, stepping back into a time when I worked as an instructional
media planner for the Office of Academic Affairs at the University of
Illinois at Chicago.
